Patty Howell's love of the written word began when she read Gone With the Wind at the age of eleven. Following that epic adventure, she read practically everything she could get her hands on. Her first meaningful job was administrative assistant to the superintendent of public schools in Washington, D.C. It didn't take him long to discover her eye for detail and her first editing job was his book about an experimental educational program in the District. She still has a personalized, autographed copy of that book. Since that first foray, editing has been a life-long pursuit. Naturally, her love of words would flow into a love of writing. She is currently senior staff editor for Highland Press.

A native of Washington, D.C., Patty worked many years as a private contract editor for the CIA. She is a world traveler having lived in the Philippines, Burma (now known as Myanmar) and Nepal. Countries visited include Thailand, India, Germany, Lebanon, Japan and China.

Patty currently resides in North Central Florida with her husband, best friend, and soul mate of forty years, Ray, and their Australian Cattledog, Jack. Her enjoyment in life comes from a deep love of God, family, reading, and last, but certainly not least, writing.

After spending many years editing, Patty launched her writing career. She writes contemporary suspense fiction with inspirational and romantic twists and is in search of a home for her completed novel Deliver Me From Evil. She also pens short story romantic fiction. Her published short stories include:

"No Laughing Matter" in the anthology No Law Against Love

"Muses in the Moonlight," in the anthology Blue Moon Enchantment

"The Patient Gift" in the anthology Christmas Wishes.

She is a member of American Christian Fiction Writers and Romance Writers of America.
